Production Assistant
Job Summary:
A full time position that will involve clerical duties, a great deal of computer skills, attention to detail, able to count parts accurately, some production planning and scheduling duties. Cross training on other production related job’s will be required and asked to be performed when necessary.
Education / Licensing / Certification Requirements:
Reporting to: Production Control Manager
Responsibilities (essential job responsibilities):
- Assist in planning production activities for manufacturing operations.
- Monitor forecasts to determine items to be manufactured or purchased.
- Enter job orders for manufactured products to meet forecast requirements.
- Create job order packets and ensure that all parts are pulled and information needed is included.
- Maintain inventory levels based on forecasts and order input.
- Perform regularly scheduled cycle counting of components, sub-assemblies and raw materials.
- Investigate and correct variances during cycle counting.
- Interact with other departments to ensure smooth and accurate flow of products.
- Investigate job costs variances of closed jobs.
Experience/Skills Required:
- A good working knowledge of Excel and familiarity with Word & Outlook.
- Understanding of planning techniques and BOM structures.
- Ability to work in a cross functional areas to identify solutions to manufacturing issues.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, tactical/strategic thinking and effective communication skills are required.
Physical Requirements/ Work Environment:
- Lifting – 50 pounds maximum
